Notable Carbon Credit Projects
Bac Lieu Province Wind Power Plant: The first near shore wind power farm on the area in Bac Lieu province, Vietnam, with total capacity of 99.2 MW and expected reduction of 143,761 tCO2 per year.
Nam Pia Hydropower Project: A hydropower project in the under-developed mountainous area of Son La province, Vietnam with total capacity of 15 MW and expected reduction is 30,780 tCO2 per year.
Avoided methane emission through aerobic composting at Vietstar municipal solid waste treatment facility, Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam: The project activity involves the pre-sorting, classification of municipal solid waste (MSW); recycling of plastic waste and thermal-aerobic treatment of the organic fraction utilizing LEMNA composting technology with the expected reduction of 181,492 tCO2e per year.
Boiler Fuel Conversion from Fuel Oil to Briquettes Biomass Fuel at Saigon Ve Wong Co.,Ltd, Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam: The project generates steam from biomass residues (rice husk briquettes) – a carbon neutral fuel which has negligible environmental impact and the usage of the residues, thus resulting in total reduction of 24,866 tCO2e per year.
Bagasse cogeneration project at Lam Son Sugar JSC.: Through this project, Lam Son Sugar Joint Stock Company (LASUCO) expanded the sugar plant with the capacity increasing from 4,000 TCD to 7,500 TCD that enables the plant to generate an amount of surplus bagasse residue of about 175,000 tons per year for power generation, resulting in total reduction of 31,706 tCO2e per year.
International water purification programme, Solar Water Disinfection in Vietnam: The small-scale CDM Programme Activity consists of the introduction and distribution Solar Water Disinfection (SODIS) in Vietnam which directly leads to reduce GHG emissions, improves quality of life of the people and contributes to sustainable development of the country.
