Bagasse cogeneration project at Lam Son Sugar JSC

The Bagasse cogeneration project at Lam Son Sugar JSC involves the construction and operation of a cogeneration plant at Lam Son Sugar Joint Stock Company (LASUCO), Lam Son town, Tho Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province of Vietnam.

The main components of the proposed project activity include a new boiler house, a new bagasse store, a new biomass boiler with auxiliary equipment, a new extraction steam turbine, a new generator, a new transformer and collection line. The design capacity of boiler is 80 tons per hour (TPH). The superheated steam generated from the boiler will be sent to the turbine to generate electricity. The installed power capacity of this project and estimated annual gross power generation is 12.5 MW and 69,570 MWh, respectively. Extraction steam after turbine (with maximum capacity of 61 TPH) and 17% of gross electricity generated will be used for internal demand of the sugar plant.

Thus GHG reductions could be achieved via the project activities is estimated at 31,706 tCO2eq per year and 317,060 tCO2eq over the whole crediting period of 10 years.
