The Za Hung hydropower plant project includes the construction of a new grid-connected hydroelectric power plant including a dam, water intake channel, pressurized well, pressurized penstocks, operator house with 02 units (each unit has 2 units (including turbine and generator) and discharge channel located in two communes Za Hung and Ma Cooi, Dong Giang district, Quang Nam province. The project developed by Za Hung Joint Stock Company has a capacity of 30 MW and a total electricity output of 122,700 MWh per year.

Emission reduction is estimated at 69,309 tCO2eq per year and 485,163 tCO2eq for 7 years of the first crediting period; and 105,872 tCO2td per year and 741,104 tCO2td for 7 years of the second crediting period.

The project also contributes to sustainable development goals including SDG 7 – Ensuring access to sustainable, reliable and affordable energy for all; SDG 8 – Ensuring sustainable, comprehensive and continuous economic growth; full employment, productivity and decent work for all; SDG 13 – Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

The project is registered under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and the Gold Standard (GS) and has undergone 3 verifications with 490,084 tCO2eq issued.
