Announcement of the monitoring results and public consultation on the verification and issuance of carbon credits for the period 01/07/2023 – 30/06/2024 for the VCS 1965 project: Cat Hiep Solar Power Plant according to the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS)

Binh Dinh TTP Energy and High Technology Joint Stock Company (investor of Cat Hiep Solar Power Plant) in coordination with Energy and Environment Consultancy Joint Stock Company – VNEEC (VCS consulting unit) and emission reduction buyer – Swiss Carbon Value Ltd. completed the fourth phase monitoring (01/07/2023 – 30/06/2024)  according to VCS for Cat  Hiep Solar Power Plant Project – VCS 1965.

Project activities include installing, operating, and monitoring the Hong Phong 4 Solar Power Plant with a peak capacity of 49.41 MW in Cat Hiep commune, Phu Cat district, Binh Dinh province, Vietnam. The clean – renewable energy generated from the project helps reduce the consumption of fossil fuels used to produce electricity and thus reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

The project utilizes modern technology, reduces global warming, contributes to environmental protection, and helps to complete the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Project activities create more jobs and contribute taxes to the national budget, so the project positively impacts socio-economic development. Additionally, the project activities do not cause negative impacts on the environment.

Project monitoring results and contributions to SDGs during the period 01/07/2023 – 30/06/2024:

• SDG3: Create long-term jobs for 13 workers in 2023, and 15 workers in 2024. These workers are covered by health insurance and have periodic health checks;
• SDG5: The project facilitates gender equality, and creates suitable jobs and a favorable and safe working environment for female workers. There are 6 female workers arranged to do part-time work such as cleaning and washing PV panels;
• SDG7: Provide 68.566,475 MWh of net electricity to the national grid;
• SDG8: Create jobs for 28 workers in 2023 and 31 direct workers at the factory with a salary higher than the provincial average as announced by the General Statistics Office (GSO) for the most the recent year 2023; Provide 1 training course on Occupational Safety and Health (HSSE), incidents, fire prevention and fighting for employees;
• SDG13: Reduce 58,227 tCO2 equivalent.

Project participants plan to conduct verification to issue carbon credits for the fourth monitoring phase in Q3 2024.
