On December 6, 2016, Energy and Environment Consultancy Joint Stock Company (VNEEC) cooperated with Vietnam Holding Fund (VNH) to successfully organize the Conference on “Carbon Measurement and Reporting Methodology for Enterprises” In the framework of the dialogue program “Solutions for sustainable development for businesses” was held in Ho Chi Minh City.
This is the first workshop on carbon footprint for businesses in Viet Nam. Attending the seminar were nearly 100 delegates from big businesses, representatives of state management agencies, professional organizations, sponsors and consultants, and experts on climate change.
The purpose of the workshop is to provide Vietnamese enterprises with information on carbon footprint calculation and reporting methods, trends in global climate change, policy orientation, and practical solutions for management. energy management and greenhouse gas emissions.
As the main presentation unit of the workshop, VNEEC presented in-depth presentations on carbon footprint, calculation methods and carbon footprint reporting in enterprises. Specifically: domestic and international context and policy on climate change; Impact on businesses and investment activities in Vietnam; Principles and definitions of carbon footprint; Carbon footprint calculation – data requirements and conversion factors; Reporting, monitoring and carbon footprint verification. In addition, VNEEC also designed and guided practical exercises on methods of determining emission sources and calculating emissions for delegates attending the workshop.
