On March 13, 2026, Energy and Environment Consultancy Joint Stock Company (VNEEC) held a working and professional training session with Nghi Son 2 Power Limited Liability Company (NS2PC) regarding the Greenhouse Gas Emission Trading System (ETS) and carbon credit mechanisms in Vietnam. Attending the exchange were the Plant Director, Chief Financial Officer, representatives of the Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SECQ) Department, along with professional staff from NS2PC.

As one of the thermal power plants in the list of facilities required to conduct greenhouse gas inventories under Decision 13/2024/QD-TTg, NS2PC always proactively updates the latest legal regulations. Meeting this need, the training session was designed by VNEEC to closely follow the actual operations of the plant, ranging from an overview of the carbon market roadmap to inventory methods, focusing on the ETS quota allocation mechanism.

During the working session, VNEEC experts provided detailed instructions on the method for determining allocated quotas through specific exercises applying actual data of the Plant. Participants learned the calculation formula directly based on three core factors: Actual electricity output ($P$), Average greenhouse gas emissions per unit of product ($B$), and Adjustment factor ($T$).

The training session took place in an atmosphere of open exchange as VNEEC experts and NS2PC leadership discussed the specificities of the electricity industry. Typical examples include concerns about emission levels depending entirely on national electricity mobilization dispatch orders. In addition, emission reduction options and carbon credit generation were also evaluated. Through this, NS2PC can see the overall picture of its position in the domestic carbon market, supporting the development of market participation strategies as a quota-allocated facility and a carbon credit-generating facility.

The exchange concluded with positive feedback from NS2PC. Through this event, VNEEC continues to affirm its role as a reputable consultancy, committed to accompanying businesses in resolving technical difficulties, improving emission management capacity, and being ready to adapt to new climate policies in Vietnam.
