The Energy and Environment Consultancy Joint Stock Company (VNEEC) has participated and supported the Department of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to organize “National Construction Workshop greenhouse gas mitigation activities in buildings ”in Hoa Binh from March 4, 2014.

Attending the seminar were more than 40 delegates from Government agencies (Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment), associations (Green Building Council, General Assembly of Construction, Assembly Architects, Business Council for Sustainable Development, Urban and Rural Planning Institute of Architecture, international donors and NGOs (UNEP, BMU, GIZ, World Bank) and domestic enterprises operating in the field of energy saving and green buildings in Viet Nam.

VNEEC representatives attended the workshop with a presentation on the Draft National Report on overall assessment of existing standards, laws, policies, technology needs, organizational and financial barriers and the Relevant emissions data in the construction sector to provide an initial assessment to support preparation for NAMA construction in buildings in Viet Nam.

The workshop was the first in the framework of the project “Building greenhouse gas mitigation activities in buildings in Asia” developed by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) with support. from the Federal Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), implemented in four priority countries in the Asia-Pacific region (Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam).

It is expected that in the next 2 years, there will be a series of Seminars within the framework of the above project to assess, prepare and implement appropriate NAMA activities in the field of energy saving of buildings/constructions in Viet Nam.
