On 30 September 2026, Energy and Environment Consultancy Joint Stock Company (VNEEC) organized a workshop to share updates on the carbon market with SNV Netherlands Development Organization (SNV) in Hanoi.
The workshop focused on the latest developments in Vietnam’s carbon market, covering the legal framework and key design of the carbon market, the current operation of the Emissions Trading System (ETS), and key issues arising in the development of the market and carbon credit projects.

Another key topic covered was the development of carbon credit projects for international transfer, including the mechanisms under Article 6.2 and Article 6.4, as well as independent carbon standards, along with the regulatory landscape, requirements and potential of carbon credit projects in agriculture, forestry and blue carbon. The workshop also included practical discussions on carbon credit projects in rice production, project implementation at the local level, and issues related to carbon rights.
Through the workshop, VNEEC and SNV exchanged perspectives, practical experience and views on the key issues arising in the development of the carbon market and carbon projects in Viet Nam, further clarifying opportunities, challenges and appropriate approaches for future activities.
