VNEEC provides CORSIA compliance consulting project for Vietnam Airlines

In 2025, Energy and Environment Consultancy Joint Stock Company (VNEEC) provided a CORSIA compliance consulting project for Vietnam Airlines (VNA), supporting VNA in meeting the requirements of the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation, in the context of Vietnam’s confirmation of its participation in Phase 1 of CORSIA starting from 2026.

Within the scope of the project, VNEEC conducted an assessment of the current CO₂ emissions status, developed emissions scenarios, identified CORSIA compliance targets, and established a roadmap for the implementation of emissions reduction measures tailored to VNA. Based on these outputs, VNA is able to optimize resources, balance costs-benefits, and select solutions aligned with its operational characteristics and long-term development orientation.

Notably, the consulting activities focused on assessing the feasibility and comparing options for the use of carbon credits for emissions offsetting, identifying the potential of CORSIA-eligible projects, analyzing factors influencing eligible carbon credit prices, and proposing optimal options for VNA during the first compliance phase, as well as supporting engagement with carbon credit suppliers and prepared documentation for submission to relevant regulatory authorities. These efforts contribute to ensuring VNA’s compliance in line with international aviation development pathways and enhancing its proactive capacity in implementing emissions reduction measures.

The CORSIA compliance consulting project for VNA further affirm VNEEC’s role in accompanying stakeholders in achieving international environmental objectives and promoting Vietnam’s green and sustainable development strategy.
