From 25-27 November 2025, a team of experts from Energy and Environment Consultancy Joint Stock Company (VNEEC) conducted an on-site survey and assessment at Song Gianh Cement Joint Stock Company (SG). This activity is a part of the consultancy package on the greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory, aiming to collect information, evaluate existing data, and identify emission sources for the plant’s GHG calculations.
The working session began with a kick-off meeting, during which the parties aligned on the survey objectives, implementation scope, and methodological approach. Following a presentation by SG representatives on the plant’s data systems and key emission sources, VNEEC experts verified the information and guided the company in preparing relevant documents for the field assessment.

After the discussion, the team conducted inspections across the plant’s main production areas, reviewing operating lines, kiln systems, and auxiliary units with emission potential. Key activities included defining the inventory boundaries and scope; assessing emission sources from fuel combustion, clinker production, electricity consumption, refrigerants, wastewater treatment and solid waste management processes. Initial data related to raw materials and operational parameters were also collected comprehensively.
On the following working day, VNEEC provided technical guidance on improving SG’s data compilation and GHG management systems based on the previous review. The team also offered detailed instructions on calculating uncertainties for the inventory report to ensure compliance with technical requirements and enhance the quality of the final results. By the end of the assessment, the GHG inventory report for SG had been completed.
As the consulting unit, VNEEC once again demonstrated strong technical expertise, particularly through its structured and transparent approach to supporting enterprises in systematizing their GHG inventory processes. This serves as a critical foundation for SG to implement the subsequent phases of the consultancy package more effectively and contributes to national sustainable development goals.
