Workshop on “MRV guidelines for projects in energy and transport sectors similar to CTF funded projects in Vietnam”

On August 15, 2019, at the Pullman Hotel, the third conference on "MRV guidelines for projects in energy and transport sectors similar to CTF funded projects in Vietnam”, the Department of Climate Change in coordination with Asian Development Bank (ADB) organized successfully with the Energy and Environment Consulting Joint Stock Company (VNEEC)!

Within the framework of the Project's activities ”TA-9055 VIE: Integrating GHG mitigation into the national infrastructure”, Department of Climate Change in coordination with Asian Development Bank (ADB) organized the Consultation Workshop third on " MRV guidelines for projects in energy and transport sectors similar to CTF funded projects in Vietnam”. The main purpose of the workshop was to consult with stakeholders on guiding MRV for projects similar to the CTF funded and energy-funded projects in Vietnam based on the developed MRV system; propose necessary support and cooperation within the project.

The main objectives that the workshop aimed at:

  • Update on TA's progress and next activities
  • The Enhanced Transparency Framework under the Paris Agreement and its consequences for national MRV from 2024 onwards
  • General MRV principles and concepts
  • MRV guidelines for urban metro and integration projects in transport sector
  • MRV guidelines for energy efficiency projects in power distribution sub-sector

The workshop opened an opportunity for energy experts, ministries, departments, research institutes and stakeholders to jointly build and establish contact points; discussing the scope of work and work plan; and update the status of CTF-funded projects as well as related activities in the transport and energy sectors.
