
The construction and operation of hydropower projects Yan Tann Sien, Ha Rao Quan and Coc Dam will bring positive contributions to sustainable development in the project area as well as the country and in accordance with policy to encourage the exploitation of renewable energy resources of the Government, and contribute to the implementation of the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions of the world community.

On March 7, 2010, the Nam Gion hydropower project was approved by the CDM Executive Board (EB) to register as a CDM project without any modifications. Nam Gion hydropower CDM project, which is consulted by VNEEC, is the largest hydropower project developed and successfully registered by Viet Nam until now.

More than 180 participants attended the Conference. Deputy Minister of MONRE - Mr. Nguyen Manh Hien, Secretary of State for Trade - Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark - Ms. Anne H. Steffensen, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Denmark in Viet Nam - Mr. Peter Lysholt Hansen opened and chair the Workshop.
