Notice of extension of the second crediting period for Bac Lieu Province Wind Power Plant according to Gold Standard and Clean Development Mechanism (GS-CDM)

Cong Ly Construction - Trading - Tourism Co., Ltd. (Owner of the Bac Lieu Province Wind Power Plant) in cooperation with the Energy and Environment Consulting Joint Stock Company - VNEEC (CDM Consultant) and People Buying and reducing emissions Vietnam Carbon Assets Ltd. extend the second credit period for Bac Lieu Province Wind Power Plant according to the Gold Standard and Clean Development Mechanism (GS-CDM).

The second crediting period of the project is expected to begin on June 20, 2020 and end on June 19, 2027.

Bac Lieu Province Wind Power Plant is an off-shore wind power plant, including the construction and operation of 62 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 99.2 MW (phase 1: 16 MW completed in 2013, phase 2 : 83.2 MW completed in 2016) in Vinh Trach Dong Commune, Hiep Thanh Commune and Nha Mat Ward, Bac Lieu Province.

The clean - renewable energy generated from the project will help reducing the consumption of fossil fuels used to generate electricity and thus, reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The project applies modern technology, mitigates global warming, contributes to protection the environment and fulfill the sustainable development goals (SDGs). Project activities create more jobs and contribute taxes to the national budget, so the project has a positive impact on socio-economic development. In addition, project activities do not cause negative environmental impacts.
